Panasonic Names New CTO
Panasonic's North American division Friday announced that Eisuke Tsuyuzaki has been named to the position of chief technology officer. Tsuyuzaki had spent the last four years as managing director of the Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory, which oversaw the company's work on Blu-ray Disc and 3D Full HD TV.
"We are confident that Eisuke Tsuyuzaki will be the right technology strategy leader for Panasonic in North America at a time when converging technologies are creating so many new opportunities," Panasonic's North American Chairman and CEO, Yoshi Yamada, said as part of the announcement. "Eisuke's expertise in technology standards and strategic alliance-building and his understanding of the needs of the content creators will be great assets for Panasonic as he takes on his new role."
Tsuyuzaki, who had previously worked at Sony, replaces Paul Liao, who is leaving the company to work for Cable Labs.
