DISH Network has announced the promotion of Paul W. Orban to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer as of July 2. In his new role, Orban will be responsible for all aspects of DISH’s finance, internal audit, treasury and accounting departments including external financial reporting, technical accounting policy, income tax accounting and internal controls.
Orban’s commitment to DISH began back in 1995 when he entered into a role on the financial reporting team. Over the course of his 23 years of service with DISH, Orban continuously worked his way up, advancing to several leadership positions along the way including Director of Accounting and Vice President of Accounting. In 2006, he claimed the title of Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller. Just two years later, Orban served at the Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller at EchoStar Corporation.
"Paul has been with us virtually every step of the way, having joined DISH weeks before we signed our first customer," said DISH President and CEO, Erik Carlson. "His encyclopedic knowledge of every aspect of our business, its finances and its strategic vision has made him an indispensable counselor to me and an outstanding leader to our business."
Prior to the start of his decades-long career with DISH, Orban was an auditor at Arthur Anderson LLP. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Colorado. As a CPA, Orban is a member of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
In his spare time, Orban enjoys spending time with his family, boating, skiing, coaching, and attending sporting events.
