Also promising an under-$1,000 price tag, Casio introduced the QV-4000, a 4.13 megapixel digital camera with a 3x Canon zoom lens, which will become available in August. It also showed the 2.1 megapixel QV-2900UX with 8x optical and 2x/4x digital zooms for up to 32x magnification total ($499 SRP, ships this month).
The darling of the show, however, was Casio's wearable camera an update to the last year's Wrist Camera watch. The new model can shoot in color and will ship in September, with metal bands (model WQV3D-8) or resin (WQV3-1) bands, for $269 and $249 SRP, respectively.
Fujifilm announced the availability of its recently introduced FinePix line of digital cameras: The 2.4 megapixel 4800 Zoom ($699 SRP) that has a USB docking cradle for recharging and image download; the 3.3 megapixel 6800 Zoom ($899 SLP), also with a docking cradle, and a 2.1 megapixel FinePix 2300 ($279 SLP), a point-and-shoot model.
