Peerless-AV Aims at the Outdoors with TVs, Mounts, Streaming Media Systems
Peerless-AV took a full arsenal of outdoor products to CEDIA 2018 last week, including unveiling for the first time its 86-inch version of the UltraView UHD Outdoor TV.
All-weather IP55-rated, its IPS panel will perform in temperatures ranging from –22 degrees to 122 degrees Fahrenheit, and at viewing angles as far off axis as 178 degrees.
Its maintenance-free design means there are no fans or filters that need tending to for the life of the display, the company says. And the UV862’s high-temperature panel permits readability even in direct sunlight with no risk of isotropic blackout, which used to prevent where a set could be situated outdoors. It also offers powder-coated aluminum frame construction which guards against inclement weather’s effects and also discoloration. Its expanded input sockets allow for storage of receiver baluns with sealed cable entryways to prevent water and debris from getting into the TV set.
Also on exhibit was the companion Bluetooth-compatible Xtreme Outdoor Soundbar Model SPK-080, with 200 watts of total system power. It carries a universal mounting option and both analog and optical connections.
Various outdoor mounting solutions also occupied the Peerless booth; these included the PRG Precision Projector Mount with Spider Universal Adaptor Plate, a pre-assembled design featuring cable management that supports most projector models, says Peerless-AV.
Also on view was the PeerAir Wireless HD Multimedia System (HDS-WHDI100), which enables HD streaming through walls and ceilings, and the PeerAir Pro Wireless AV Muliti-Display System (HDS300).
