Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) President and CEO Gary Shapiro has been appointed to the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Spectrum Management Advisory Committee. The Spectrum Management Advisory Committee, created by President Bush, is designed to provide recommendations on issues regarding spectrum management, reform and policy. The Committee members represent a balanced cross-section of stakeholders and will act as liaisons to the federal government.
SanDisk appointed Juha Raisanen as senior vice president. Raisanen, who has over 20 years of industry experience in demand management and supply chain operations, will be responsible for the company’s worldwide operations and supply chain and will report to Dr. Randhir Thakur, executive vice president of technology and worldwide operations. To manage SanDisk’s global manufacturing that includes locations throughout Asia, Raisanen will be stationed in Shanghai, where he will be responsible for managing end-to-end supply chain and overseeing the worldwide manufacturing operations organization.
DBL Distributing announced the addition of Tom Greger to DBL’s team of operations, logistics and distribution professionals. As vice oresident of operations, Greger will lead all functions related to DBL’s national distribution model including shipping, receiving, returns, quality control and inventory control. Prior to joining DBL, Greger held a variety of senior management positions in the areas of operations and high-volume distribution, bringing a breadth of knowledge and experience to his position. Greger was recently director of distribution for PetSmart, where he was accountable for 4 distribution centers, employing 800 associates. There he was responsible for the selection, design and implementation of the warehouse management system and was responsible for the procurement, design and build of an 877,000 SF distribution center in Atlanta, Ga.
