Petra Industries, the consumer technology authority and wholesale electronics distributor, is pleased to announce the appointment of Josh Williams as Director of Digital and Ecommerce Marketing.
In response to shifting marketing trends toward a focus on ecommerce and data-driven metrics, Petra has adopted a digital-first mindset in order to best serve its vendor partners and best match those partners to Petra's customer base. This enables a nimble, next-generation approach to marketing, and the ability to pivot faster as a company to respond to marketplace changes.
"Over the past year, Josh has been evolving Petra’s marketing strategy to focus on digital marketing opportunities," said Petra President Tate Morgan. "Part of this evolution includes promoting Josh into this new role so that Petra may continue to provide the best-in-class service our customers have come to know and expect."
Williams has been instrumental in modernizing Petra's marketing and ecommerce practices. As data-driven metrics have become more and more important, his keen and in-depth understanding of all aspects of online marketing has been crucial in enabling Petra to meet the shifting demands in today's marketplace.
"I'm excited for the opportunity to continue our digital transformation," says Williams upon his appointment. "We have a great team and I look forward to working with them to serve our customers and vendor partners."
Williams' unique background places him in an ideal position to meet the ever-changing marketing challenges—especially in the areas of emerging technologies, marketing automation and ecommerce.
He joined Petra as a Web Developer in August of 2010, bringing with him over seven years of experience—planning and developing multiple software products and services, developing internal billing and support services. As a Web Developer, he and his team refined the user experience of petra.com and developed a number of award-winning marketing projects.
In 2014, Williams was promoted to Web Development Manager, becoming responsible for managing, developing and supporting web applications. He developed strategies for modernizing internal systems as well as customer-facing systems which resulted in the creation of a modern, responsive ecommerce storefront. He also led the team responsible for integrating Petra’s product information management platform, resulting in an incredibly strong and robust data tool that houses all the assets required to best serve Petra's vendors and customers.
Williams was recognized in Dealerscope's "40 Under 40: Who's Key in CE?" June 2015 issue.
