Phaz Music Intros its First Power-Boosting Headphones
Phaz Music has introduced its first in a series of headphone models – the P2 over-ear headphones – to feature the new company’s energy transfer technology.
It is an engineering approach that, via a built-in 1,200-milliamperes/hour battery located within the headphone, will both drive the internal electronics of the headphone including an amplifier with active-bass-boost, and use the other 90 percent of its power to charge the mobile source listening device. The P2’s design makes extensive use of carbon fiber to keep it light and comfortable for a long-haul 10-hour listening experience in active mode, says David Munzlinger, Phaz Music president. The headphones are also usable in passive mode.
“The headphone category has taken off, with a host of vendors jumping in,” Munzlinger says. “It’s a saturated market, full of countless players and products. Our headphones are not a ‘me-too’ product; dealers will have a new story to tell.”
