According to results from DisplaySearch’s latest report, Royal Philips Electronics continues to hold the top spot in unit share of worldwide LCD TV shipments. Philips holds 13.5 percent of the market, with Samsung a close second at 13.1 percent and Sharp placing third with 11.8 percent. The overall market has increased sales by 13.5 percent in Q2 2006 over Q2 2005. 22 percent of the world television market consisted of LCD screens in Q2, up from 17 percent in Q1.
In terms of revenue share, Sony maintained its lead at 16 percent. Second and third place also remained unchanged from Q1, with Samsung at 15.4 percent and Philips at 11 percent.
