Photokina - Fully Accepting Digital
Kodak was busy showing off three new cameras. The DC3400 Zoom, with 2.1MP, single focal length lens (2x digital zoom) and a two- to four-frames-per-second burst mode is modeled after the DC280, with 2 MP and a 2x zoom. The pocket-sized DC3800 is packaged with a CompactFlash card reader. The EZ200, a basic model with 640 x 480 resolution, measures 3.6 x 1.4 x 2.7 inches and weighing 4.7 ounces.
Fuji expanded its family of FinePix cameras. Model 4900Zoom is a 4.3MP camera with a 6x zoom (35 to 210mm in 35mm format) and two file formats. The 2400Zoom is a 35mm point-and-shoot look-alike with 2.11 MP, a sliding lens cover/power control switch and continuous shooting mode. Fuji's 1300 is flat-box shape, shooting 1.3 MP with a single focal length f/4.5 lens. Also on view, the FinePix NX-500 printer and floppy disk adapter for SmartMedia cards.
Konica unveiled four cameras ranging from the KD-200Z with 2.11 MP and 3x optical zoom to the youth-oriented, entry-level KD-35V emphasizing e-mail and MP3 compatibility.
