Recognizing the changing economic landscape of the past year, Ted Cardenas, director of marketing for Pioneer Electronics USA's mobile division, announced the company's innovative strategies and leading-edge product launches for 2010. In the Pioneer press conference on the day before the International CES officially began, Cardenas unveiled what the company envisions for the immediate future, connecting consumers' various media devices inside the automotive environment.
At the heart of this strategy is its Platform for Aggregation of Internet Services, or PAIS, which provides users with one account, but offers "many services for many devices" across manufacturers. These services include features like GPS and maps.
Pioneer's strategy for 2010 is a four-pronged approach based on the various levels of users' lifestyles. Stage 1 is the "replacement," defining users that are interested in adding features to their car's media devices, including iPod interfaces or upgrading speakers.
