Pioneer’s Haga to Step Down
Pioneer North America announced Monday that its top executive, Tom Haga, will step down at the end of this month. He will remain with Pioneer in an advisory capacity to the company’s new president, Masao Kawabata.
Haga, a 38-year veteran of the company, had been president, chairman and CEO of the company.
“We are so thankful to Tom for his many years of support and the unique perspective he brought to the industry,” CEO President and CEO Gary Shapiro said in a statement issued by the company. “Haga succeeded in ensuring that Pioneer could respond quickly and effectively to the changing consumer electronics environment. He transformed Pioneer as the industry moved from analog to digital and from stand-alone to networked products.”
