Jensen Takes A/V and MP3 on the Road
Jensen's Intellicar (model IC8010). is a standard AM/FM, CD and CD changer control, but when connected to a new A/V interface module (IC20AV), the head unit becomes an A/V receiver that can control up to four separate A/V sources in the car at once and send different video to up to three monitors in the car. In addition, Jensen is offering compatible wireless 900 MHz headphones and a wireless remote, so that rearseat passengers can control whichever source to which they are watching or listening to. The price of the head unit is $249.95, the A/V module is $179.95, the headphones $99.95 and the remote control, $59.95. Jensen is also shipping two head units that offer playback of CD-R or CD-RW containing compressed MP3 files, the MP5010K and the MP3510. Both units use a multi-color, dot matrix LCD that can show up to 30 characters of ID3 embedded information that is encoded into many MP3 files by record companies or consumers themselves. The player also has the ability to read filefolder names from the disk and scroll through the names of the folders, making the organization of the CD a bit easier to follow.The MP5010K retails for $279.95 with 60-watt x 4 power, while the MP3510 retails for $229.95 with 45-watt x 4 power.
