Epson to Ship PRINT Image Matching Printer
Epson in June will ship its PRINT Image Matching-enabled inkjet printer, the Epson Stylus 785EPX for $249 ESP. PRINT Image Matching technology allows digital imaging manufacturers to set parameters (gamma level, contrast, brightness, sharpness, color balance, etc.) for printing digital images with optimum results. PRINT Image Matching-enabled digital cameras will hit retail throughout 2001. The printer's built-in PC card slot, with the appropriate memory card adapter, is compatible with CompactFlash, IBM Microdrive, Smart Media, Memory Stick and Secure Digital cards. A CompactFlash adapter comes standard, but can be exchanged for either a Smart Media or a Memory Stick adapter through Epson. An optional 1.6" color monitor ($99 ESP) attaches to the printer and can be tilted. The Epson Stylus 785EPX has a USB port and is Mac- and PC-compatible.
