Planar Adds to Touchscreen Line, Launches Home Theater Initiative
Planar Systems Inc. introduced two new 15-inch touchscreen displays this week, the PT1520MU and the PT1510MX. The systems are designed for self-service and point of sale applications.
To better accommodate the user, the PT1520MU comes with a deskstand that allows for 0º to 90º screen tilt. It also features a five-wire resistive touchscreen with USB touchscreen interface and a brightness of 350 cd/m². The PT151MX was designed with a lower price point in mind, and features a five-wire resistive touchscreen with dual serial RS-232/USB user interface.
Chris Connery, vice president of market research for DisplaySearch, says, “While flat-panel displays in a touch environment were once too costly, recent efficiencies in LCD production have brought price points down to CRT levels.”
