In July, SanDisk and Skype joined forces to introduce a USB drive that could carry personalized software from one PC to another using a platform called U3. On Thursday, PNY announced their latest Attaché line of smart drives will use the same platform to achieve that result. Documents, files, Windows software applications, personal preferences and PC settings can be transported on the smart drive from one computer to the next. Built-in password authentication protects user data. The U3 platform supports such applications as Mozilla Firefox, OpenOffice, Skype, Yahoo! Widgets, Roboform, Shutterfly and Sudoku, all of which are available for download at http://software.U3.com
The Attachés, which are compatible with Windows XP or 2000, will be available in early 2007 in both 1 and 2GB capacities.
