Polaroid is helping its SLR cameras get into the selfie game. For consumers looking to take photos of themselves—but who think their front facing smartphone camera just isn’t hi-res enough—the camera company has released a new accessory that will allow them to capture a self portrait with their SLR.
The Polaroid SelfieDisc allows photogs to remotely snap a photo as well as start and stop video recordings, Polaroid explained in a statement. And it’s not made just for Polaroid products. The compact design—it’s only slightly bigger than an U.S. quarter—attaches to the front of most Canon, Nikon, Pentax, and Sony SLR cameras, the company said.
Through the Polaroid SelfieDisc shutter control app—available for iOS and Android devices—users will have access to extended remote shutter control. Further, the free app gives the user access to other advanced features and functions like timer and shutter delay, time-lapse, stop-motion, and more.
