PRO Group, HES Form Alliance
PRO Group and Home Entertainment Source (HES) announced Thursday that they have agreed to form a “strategic alliance,” which the groups say will represent more than $4 billion in upscale CE retail volume.
“This alliance represents a unique opportunity to collaborate with HES on key buys for the benefit of both groups, while completely maintaining separate programs, business services and independent entity status,” PRO Group Executive Director/COO Dave Workman said as part of the announcement. “The consumer electronics industry is changing and buying groups need to provide new business solutions to their members that can help them compete against the rapid commoditization and new competition in this business.”
In the announcement, HES Executive Vice President Jim Ristow added that “this alliance represents the most viable growth opportunity for the manufacturer in upscale, value added merchandise and allows them to develop a cohesive national strategy giving everyone (vendors, dealers, industry) the best chance to survive and prosper.”
