It's Time To Partner For Profit
Imagine a world in which no one speaks the same language. Everyone would have to guess the wants and needs of others. The logical solution would be to find a common language, a way for everyone to communicate effectively. That may be a simple solution, but it's more difficult to achieve than you'd think. The current state of the 12-volt industry offers a good example of a world where poor communications seems to be the standard.
Think about it. We have unparalleled access to multiple streams of communication. We have teleconferencing, video conferencing, email, instant messaging and so much more. Why is it then that communication within the supply chain is so bad? While there are exceptions, most manufacturers will admit that they don't know what is going on at the street level. In turn, most retailers are so focused upon their own needs their partnerships suffer.
Because of this, both sides of the industry fail to recognize a simple concept: When the needs of both parties are not addressed, the relationship is doomed to fail.
