Buying group ProSource has made an exclusive agreement with lighting designer, educator and author David Warfel to help steer its lighting initiative going forward.
Formerly the chair of the lighting design program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Warfel teaches regular continuing education seminars in lighting design that offer immersive training experiences. He is a facilitator for the Illuminating Engineering Society and serves on the Educational Material Review committee. He is also a registered continuing education provider for the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
“Bringing David on board as an exclusive advisor for the ProSource membership underscores our commitment to the number one growth category for our organization,” said Dave Workman, CEO and president of ProSource. “Working with the Lighting and Shading Committee and our internal category champions, we welcome David's guidance in the development of ProSource training initiatives and evaluation of product offerings.”
ProSource District Managers Nicole Riddle and Samantha Summerfield recently passed the American Lighting Association (ALA) Lighting Specialist Certification test that encompasses residential lighting industry trends, technology and technical developments, with the goal of helping members determine who should attend trainings.
“Our partnership with David is our next step to equip and position our members to be a force within the lighting industry. He is not only knowledgeable and experienced, but is also a gifted and passionate educator. We are excited to have him on our team,” said Jonathan Wesco, Chairperson of the ProSource Lighting and Shading Committee, and President of Allegro Home Entertainment.
