QVC Relaunches Brand, and Will Debut HD Radio
There’s bad news for Qualcomm, Motorola’s Q smartphone, and every other product with the letter “Q” in its name- QVC wants to take ownership of the letter.
The West Chester, Pa.-based home shopping giant, according to a New York Times piece published Friday, is launching a major ad blitz aimed at associating the letter “Q” with its brand, much the way the letter “Z” is associated with Zorro, or “X” with the X-Men. Also involved in the effort is a new logo that emphasizes the letter, and the new slogan “I Q.”
While QVC will not actually be attempting to trademark the letter, the Times said, it is planning on getting people to refer to the network as “the Q.”
