RadioShack Looking at Bids
RadioShack is accepting bids for a possible sale of the company, with private equity firms eying an acquisition of the retailer, the New York Post reported Monday. The paper had reported in the spring that RadioShack had retained Goldman Sachs to explore a potential sale.
According to the paper, potential bidders for RadioShack include the Blackstone Group, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Co. and Bain Capital, all of which are private equity firms. The Post added that CEO Julian Day has asked Goldman to "pick up the pace," and that the company will present to bidders this week.
Best Buy, the report said, has kept an "extremely low profile" during the bidding thus far.
