RadioShack Auction Set For Monday
RadioShack is set for a liquidation action to begin on Monday.
According to a Wall Street Journal account, only one bidder- hedge fund Standard General- has plans to keep the chain in existence, with its previously announced plan to team with Sprint to operate stores as co-branded outlets. The other bidders are liquidators interested in pieces of the company.
The reports last month about Amazon making a retail move by buying some RadioShack stores do not appear to have come to fruition, at least not directly.
