The struggling retailer RadioShack may be looking at a big move into gaming, as part of its recovery efforts, according to the Web site GamePro.com, RadioShack will begin selling gaming consoles, and games, in its retail outlets starting Sept. 24.
RadioShack will sell games and consoles from the Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 2, but not for the PlayStation 3.
According to a report by a Wall Street analyst cited by the Dallas Morning News, RadioShack may be positioning themselves to compete with GameSpot, the gaming retailer. While this would be a risk, analyst Gary Balter said, it may help RadioShack make up the gap made by the company’s deficiencies in other sectors.
