RadioShack Has Successful Quarter
RadioShack Thursday reported a strong first-quarter profit, as the company was buoyed by sales of converter boxes and other products related to the DTV transition.
According to the AP, RadioShack posted a $43.1 million profit in the first quarter, up from $38.8 million the same period last year. The chain was strengthened by its sales of 1 million converter boxes, which generated $70 million in sales. Same-store sales also rose 5 percent in the quarter.
