Redbox Amends Suit
Redbox, the operator of movie-rental kiosks locked in a battle with three movie studios, has expanded its lawsuit against the studios. According to the Los Angeles Times, Redbox has amended a lawsuit, and is alleging that Walmart, Target and Best Buy were influenced by the studios into limiting DVDs that are available to Redbox.
Redbox, which is owned by Coinstar, had already sued Fox, Universal and Warner Bros., and is now claiming that they were persuaded by the studios, who Redbox says has limited how many DVDs can be purchased at a time.
Walmart and Best Buy both denied the charges when contacted by the newspaper.
