DEALERSCOPE: Are you doing much with social media now? If so, what platforms are you using? Has time and money dedicated to social media begun to pay dividends in your business yet?
Perlman: We are using social media as much as I see anybody else. I think you have to be involved with social media. You can make people aware of a product using social media. We’re on Twitter; we’re on Facebook. Like a lot of other companies, we have people who just do that. I don’t know if the time and money spent on social media has yielded dividends yet because it’s a game of mind share. I haven’t seen anyone convert social media to sales with any real repetition. There’s no direct way of measuring it. You’ve got to stay in front of people and this is just another way of communicating with the customer.
