It's starting to feel like the start of the holiday season as tech giants like Samsung showcase their newest goodies to stadiums full of journalists, giving a better idea of what is in store for the mass market.
This year, Samsung has launched a line of new Galaxy themed products, launching a new watch, a smart speaker, a WiFi mesh system, and, of course, a new smartphone. And it wouldn't be a round-up without a few hot takes so here is the report card from last weeks showing.
The Samsung line of phones has always been an interesting narrative in the smartphone wars. Yes, Samsung is still obsessed with telling you how much they aren't Apple, but they haven't sold out. Their line of phones still have a headphone jack, are still waterproof, are still running a custom version of Android, and they don't have a notch. Even Google has caved and added a notch to the flagship line of Pixel phones and dumped the headphone jack - two things they poked at Apple for.
