Report From the Front Line A Buying Group Roundtable
The future is flat panel, duh
Buying group leaders agree there is almost no more compelling product category in 2005 than flat-panel television, be it plasma or LCD. And the time is ripe, say some.
"When you consider there are 250 million color sets in America, and probably half of those are going to be replaced in the next five years, you're talking about a huge opportunity for all retailers," says Nationwide's Weisner. He believes the increasing interest in high definition and the growing interest in LCD and plasma among consumers is going play a major role in 2005 and over the next few years.
