Report: iPhone Likely to Horn in on eBook Market
According to a research report posted by mobile applications analytics firm Flurry on their blog, eBooks surpassed games as the most uploaded category of product available in Apple's App store this September. In October, the report cites, one out of every five applications made available for the iPhone were eBooks. The report contends this increase in supply is likely due to the number of Americans reading books on the iPhone reaching 1 percent in August. Flurry believes that Apple is now positioned to take maarket share away from the Amazon Kindle in a manner similar to that of its encroachment on the Nintendo DS. The study cites Nintendo's October 29 earnings call which partially laid the blame for a 50 peercent drop in profits on the iPhone.
