Report: Sony Readying Google TVs
Sony is planning to debut TVs that feature a version of Google software, and will introduce them next month at a Google conference in San Francisco, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday.
Bloomberg cited "two people familiar with the matter."
The TVs will feature Intel-made chips and a version of Google's Android software called Dragonpoint. The TVs, according to the report, will be part of a new initiative to make Internet-capable TVs and Blu-ray Disc players. The move is seen as an attempt by Sony to improve its market share in TVs, after falling behind Samsung and LG in recent years.
