Retail chain Conn's, which was recently sued by Texas' attorney general for what he called a pattern of deceptive trade and retail practices, managed to keep its A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau despite receiving more than 2,000 complaints, the Beaumont Enterprise newspaper reported over the weekend.,
The Southeast Texas bureau, in fact, kept the perfect rating until last week, when Attorney General Greg Abbott filed suit against the company. The Houston BBB had suspended the membership of Conn's a month earlier.
The chief of the Southeast bureau, Michael Clayton, defended the group, telling the paper that Conn's had been "responsive" to complaints that it has received.
