"I think they are waking up," Kiefer says. "The problem is they can't find anybody in the big city to show it to them. They (dealers) have been weakened, and/or they've drifted off into one line that's exclusive."
The next generation of buyers "are going to be ferreting out the small specialty stores," Kiefer says. "The problem is it's going to take some years for the little, small specialty stores to get financially stable so they can offer a selection."
"I am very sensitive to the fact that the student buyer is shopping online at a phenomenal pace," says Kiefer. "In their mind, any retail walk-in store is high-priced, and they are cutting out the middle-man."
