Retail Sales Weak, but CE Surges 3.4 Percent
While overall retail sales in the U.S. were weak in September, the electronics and appliances category had a huge month, thanks to the arrival of two new iPhones.
According to Commerce Dept. statistics cited by Reuters, retail sales dropped 0.3 percent. However, electronics sales jumped 3.4 percent, on the strength of sales of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
