Retailers Fined For Analog Mislabeling
Several top CE retailers, including Best Buy, Circuit City and Wal*Mart, were fined a total of $3.9 million Thursday by the FCC, after the government agency determined that they had not adequately labeled analog-only TVs, the Associated Press reported.
Sears Holding Co. was docked the most of any company- $1.1 million- in fines that covered both Sears and K-Mart, which it owns. Wal*Mart was fined $992,000, Circuit City was docked $712,000, and Best Buy, Target and Fry’s Electronics were fined less than $400,000 each.
Other retailers were warned, but not fined.
