RIM To Introduce Flip BlackBerry
BlackBerry maker Research in Motion on Wednesday is set to introduce its first-ever flip phone. The BlackBerry Pearl Flip, which will be available on T-Mobile exclusively in the U.S., is the sequel to the popular standard Pearl, which employed the brand’s traditional slab-like design.
According to the AP, the new device represents a continued move by the company into the consumer smart phone market, which began two years ago with the introduction of the original Pearl. The company has also been rumored to be working on a touchscreen smart phone to compete with Apple’s iPhone.
The phone will be available this fall; no pricing information has been announced.
