RIM Upgrades BlackBerry E-mail
Research in Motion said this week that it will upgrade its signature product, the BlackBerry, to make it easier for users to use e-mail, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The changes, which will be implemented through software upgrades throughout the first half of this year, will make e-mailing from a BlackBerry more like doing so from a standard computer, and it will also make it easier for users to edit documents. The move is seen as a way for RIM to compete with other smart phones, most notably the iPhone and those based on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile operating system, that compete with the BlackBerry.
The change was announced at IBM’s Lotusphere conference in Orlando.
