Rob Stott Joins Nationwide Marketing Group
We want to congratulate our former editorial director, Rob Stott, who has just accepted a position with Nationwide Marketing Group as a manager of corporate communications. In the role, Stott will manage Nationwide’s public relations and social media efforts, as well as the group’s member magazine, Independent Thinking. He’s also been tasked with implementing new strategies for Nationwide’s communication efforts—something he also executed for CT Lab Global Media.
“Storytelling has been the one constant throughout my career, and it’s where I find I’m most passionate,” Stott says. “During my time writing about the retail trade, I’ve had the opportunity to grow close to Nationwide and its members, and the work they do has always left me impressed. I’m thrilled for the opportunity to join the Nationwide team and share even more stories from this incredible organization.”
Stott began his career in the consumer technology retail and custom installation space in 2015 as a content editor here at CT Lab. He quickly established himself as a leader amongst our group, and was promoted to editorial director less than two years later. Stott’s out-of-the-box thinking led to the creation of the Dealerscope Podcast and Unboxed review series. He also played a key role in developing the Dealerscope CE Retail Confidence Index.
As he stepped into the editorial director role, Stott established a strong editorial strategy for Dealerscope’s and Connected Design’s websites, magazines, and special projects. Over the past four years, he attended countless tradeshows around the world, including Nationwide’s own PrimeTime show, where he brought along his enthusiasm and podcasting equipment. His personality and extensive knowledge of the space stood out during his podcast interviews, which quickly became a core element of PrimeTime.
“Rob has always been a vocal advocate for the independent retailer,” says Tom Hickman, Nationwide’s president and chief member advocate. “And through his in-depth coverage of PrimeTime, and of the independent channel in general, he has shown that he truly understands what makes this industry tick. Rob’s talent and expertise will allow us to continue highlighting the exceptional work of our members and vendors in innovative and engaging new ways. We are very excited to welcome him to the team.”
