RoboSense, a provider of Smart automotive LiDAR Sensor Systems, has announced that four distinguished LiDAR experts have joined RoboSense for automotive LiDAR development and German business expansion, including Dr. Alexander Greiner as the Chief System Architect, Dr. Siegwart Bogatscher as the Director of Research & Development, Chief Product Architect and Senior Expert System Engineering, Dr. Nico Heußner as the Director of Research & Innovation and Chief Optical Architect, Dr. Andre Malz as the Business Development Director. All of them own Ph.D. degrees of Optical Engineering or Physics and more than 8 years’ experience in LiDAR system or AD/ADAS development in global OEMs and Tier 1 companies.
Dr. Alexander Greiner is one of the global earliest LiDAR system development and researcher. Prior to joining RoboSense, Dr. Alexander Greiner was one of the key system engineers and architects in Bosch and Faro LiDAR, responsible for multiple programs and projects, including the development, design, optimization, and implementation of automotive as well as terrestrial LiDAR systems.
Dr. Siegwart Bogatscher is a distinguished LiDAR expert with more than 10 years of experience in LiDAR system development. Prior to joining RoboSense, Dr. Siegwart Bogatscher was previously a key member of the Bosch Laser Scanner development team for more than 5 years, mainly responsible for the automotive-grade LiDAR system architecture design. In 2018 he took over the team lead of the LiDAR system engineering team at Bosch. He has a Ph.D. degree in Optical Engineering by Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
Dr. Nico Heußner is an outstanding LiDAR and Eye Safety expert with more than 8 years of experience. He previously worked in the Bosch Laser Scanner development team on Optics, Eye Safety and was in charge of several LiDAR related research topics. He was rewarded “Inventor of the quarter 2/2017” within Bosch Chassis Systems Control for his outstanding innovative work. During his career, he has filed over 30 patents. As a senior expert in the field of Eye Safety, he published almost 20 papers, his work on modeling retinal damage was elected as honored paper 2018 within “Computers in Biology and Medicine”.
Dr. Andre Malz is an experienced optical system architect expert with over 15 years’ experience in developing complex electronic and optoelectronic system architectures and worked for global automotive Tier-1 companies, Harman and Aptiv prior to joining RoboSense. From 2015 to 2018, he was the Lead Systems Engineer at Harman, and was responsible for automotive infotainment systems and ADAS systems and coordinate a development team with systems, software, hardware, mechanics, testing/validation, and functional safety.
