DJI has appointed former VP of operations Roger Luo as company president. The China-based company is the world leader in consumer drone and aerial imaging technology with over 11,000 staff worldwide and presences in more than 17 cities.
While company founder and CEO Frank Wang will continue to oversee DJI’s product development, Luo’s role will be centered around developing business internationally by enabling the company “to gain a deeper understanding of our growing consumer base and build stronger relationships with our dealers and partners,” as Wang put it. He holds that this move will “strengthen our management in the area of operations” due to Luo’s track record in operational excellence.
Having overseen procurement, production and logistics for the last two years, Luo has been driving innovation within the company, increasing the level of automation and allowing DJI to keep pace with technological developments and new market requirements. He has experience in a variety of roles, including hardware engineering product management in companies such as Apple, Foxconn and Siemens.
