Roku Gets Baseball Streaming
Roku, maker of the Netflix Roku Player, announced this week that Major League Baseball's MLB.tv package will be available to Roku owners, through the MLB.tv subscription fee (a prorated $34.95 for the remainder of the season.)
MLB.tv, a subscription service for viewing out-of-market baseball games over the Internet, has of late been adapted as multiple applications, including for the iPhone and for the Boxee device. Meanwhile, the Roku player, which originally played only Netflix content, has recently added access to the Amazon Video on Demand store.
The Roku service will not carry in-market games, although users with television service can simply watch the games on TV.
