Roll Up For Disney and Panasonic’s Magical Blu-ray Tourf
The latest salvo in the hi-def DVD format war comes from the Blu-ray Disc side, as three of the format’s biggest backers are embarking on an 18-city tour of malls to tout the technology.
The Magical Blu-ray Tour, set to launch Aug. 17 in Canoga Park, Calif., is a joint project of Walt Disney Studios, Panasonic, and the Sony-backed Blu-ray Disc Association. According to a USA Today report, the tour will show off Blu-ray technology with “towering widescreens, interactive video-game and movie stations, and even a mini theater.”
The tour will conclude in Chandler, Ariz. on Dec. 23; it will also visit the Mall of America in Minnesota from Sept. 28-30, and the King of Prussia mall in Pennsylvania Nov. 16-18.
