Round Room LLC, the largest Verizon Authorized Retailers, announced that it has acquired Wireless Advantage, a Verizon Premium Retailer that operates 45 locations in rural and metro markets across the southeastern U.S. The addition of the new locations brings Round Room’s nationwide footprint up to 1,241 stores in 43 states.
In addition to its new Wireless Advantage stores, Round Room has 876 TCC and 365 Wireless Zone stores in its portfolio. As part of the acquisition, Round Room said that the Wireless Advantage stores will move under the TCC banner. Current field staff and store-level sales reps and managers will transition to TCC employees, while the company’s back-office support staff will be moved to Round Room’s headquarters in Carmel, Indiana.
“Wireless Advantage has a great reputation as a top industry retailer with years of strong performance in Verizon’s Southeast market,” Scott Moorehead, CEO of Round Room, said in a statement. “Like TCC, the company has a keen focus on delivering superior customer service with a commitment to developing its employees, and we look forward to bringing our organizations together.”
Wireless Advantage was founded in Dothan, Alabama in 2001 by President and CEO Steve Maddox. The company got its start under the ALLTEL brand and quickly became one of the carrier’s largest partners in that region. After ALLTEL was acquired by Verizon Wireless in 2009, Wireless Advantage transitioned into becoming one of the fastest growing Verizon Premium Retailers in the Southeast.
Since 2015, TCC has more than doubled in size through acquisitions of wireless retailers and expanded its footprint into more than a dozen states.
