Russound Intros Answer CI Efficiency Needs
New models in the Sphere E Series include the TSV-E5 8.4-inch touchscreen, an Alan Boothroyd design that uses power over Ethernet via a single CAT5 connection, with no additional wiring required. Lewis says it supports IP video cameras and “widgets” for weather, stocks and the like. Wall-mountable now, it will also be available as a desktop model. The RFR-E5 RF remote offers two-way feedback and the same clickwheel interface element as the KLK-E5 keypad. The ZXP-E5 zone expander, the third new E Series product, is a companion piece for the ACA-E5 controller. Lewis says that the device adds six zones, and its smaller footprint and cost will enable integrators to do larger jobs more cost-effectively.
Hanchette said that the new products already reflected necessary pricing hikes. “The increases have already been built in,” he explained. “For the future, however, as we increase sales and become more important to our factories, we can keep costs under control and give good value, while executing smart design. We are consolidating the number of contract manufacturers we work with across the board, to offer a broader range of products from individual partners. That way, we leverage our production efficiencies.”
