Recession or not, the U.S. gaming sector had a huge month in February, as sales of games and consoles jumped 10 percent in the month. According to NPD Group figures cited by Reuters, games brought in $1.47 billion of revenues.
Software sales rose 9 percent and hardware sales 11 percent, as growth of both was driven by the strength of the Wii console and games. The Wii was once again tops in sales, followed by Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3.
Top games included Capcom's Street Fighter IV and Nintendo's own Wii Fit.
