Sales of netbooks have grown exponentially in the past couple of years. But can the growth continue? Almost certainly not, iSuppli Corp. reported last week.
According to the study, growth in netbook sales is likely to slow as the economy improves, as less cost-conscious customers opt for more expensive models.
"People are not buying netbooks because they are truly desirable platforms, but rather because as low-cost PCs, they offer a good mix of features at an acceptable price point," said Matthew Wilkins, principal analyst, compute platforms, for iSuppli, said as part of the study's announcement.
