Nexus One Sales Called Slow
Sales of the Nexus One, the first true "Google phone," were slow in their opening week, according to a published report.
Mobile analytics firm Flurry, as cited by CNBC, reported that just 20,000 units were sold of the Nexus One after it was unveiled last week. By contrast, 1.6 million units were sold of the latest Apple iPhone when it was released last summer, while the Droid from Verizon- which runs Google's Android operating system- moved 250,000 in its first week late last year.
Google is using a unique sales model in that it is selling the phone directly, rather than through wireless carriers.
