Sales revenue for consumer electronics rose year over year in November for the first month this year, NPD Group announced Friday.
According to the NPD Group’s Retail Tracking Service, CE revenue in November reached $7.1 billion in the U.S., a slight increase from November 2008. That month represented a 14 percent decline over the previous November. Sales were buoyed by strong performance in the desktop and mobile PCs, DSLR and networking device categories. Flat-panel TVs, point-and-shoot cameras and mp3 players were reported down over last year's number.
The result followed a slight decline in Black Friday revenues over last year.
