Sam's Club Offers Individual Discounts With eValues
Sam's Club has launched a program called eValues, which offers customers individualized discounts based on their buying history. According to a New York Times profile of the program, which launched last year, industry experts expect other retailers to emulate the program.
eValues, which is featured on in-store kiosks, allows customers to print off offers on products, which include electronics as well as household and grocery products. A company representative told the paper that 20 to 30 percent of eligible customers take advantage of the offers.
Sam's Club, which is owned by Walmart, uses predictive analytics, including such information as the customer's credit score, to predict which products customers will buy.
