Samsung Announces Contest Winners
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., has announced the ten winners of its World Creative Imaging Competition (WCIC), launched to identify global creative talent and the creative names of the future within world-class art schools.
The competition involved selecting students from some of world’s most prestigious art schools and offering them the chance to convey their ‘creative moment’ through the use of the new Samsung NX10. Following an online vote which allowed the public to become ‘fans’ of the entrants, images created by the ten winners were unveiled at the industry-renowned Photo and Imaging Exhibition 2010 in Seoul, Korea. In a unique and unprecedented partnership, Samsung joined with art schools throughout six countries, including the UK, France, Germany, USA, Korea and China, to launch the competition to 120 of the world’s most creative students. These included aspiring artists, designers and architects. The competition provided an unparalleled opportunity for talented young people to showcase their creativity by leveraging the functions and capabilities of the newly launched NX10 camera.
