Samsung Appoints Steel
Samsung Electronics North America announced Wednesday that David Steel has been appointed its senior vice president of marketing, a position which will put him in charge of corporate planning, marketing management and market intelligence. Steel will report to Executive Vice President S.W. Hong.
Steel comes to the U.S. after a ten-year stint with the company in Korea. He worked for several years with Samsung’s Global Strategy Group, before moving last year to the company’s Mobile Communications Division.
“David brings to [North American Headquarters] a strategic mindset, an intimate understanding of different product categories and an extensive network within our retail and channel partners around the world,” Hong said in a statement announcing the appointment. “We are thrilled to add him to our team at a time when we are seeing exceptional growth and entering the second half of 2008.”
